Give Them Wings, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation doing business as WINGS. WINGS is a two-phase program which is designed to provide housing, work, education and wrap-around services for young men who have aged out of foster care. The program will be starting with four 18- to 23-year-old young men from Hood River and Wasco counties. WINGS then plans to expand to multiple locations as the program grows.

What began as one mom’s quest to find services for her "lost" boy has become a unique collaboration of services that will offer training and support to young men in the Mid-Columbia Region who are ready to turn their lives around. The program is completely voluntary and free – the only requirement is desire to make a change. 

A Home … At Last
At an event last week, Allyson Pate and the WINGS Board of Directors announced that the purchase of a home for WINGS is complete! The Hood River three-bedroom, two-bath manufactured home on three acres is at the end of a quiet street with a large backyard and 1 ½ acres of pasture. WINGS founder and executive director, Allyson Pate and her husband, James, have purchased the property, which is located on Rockford Road. They plan to lease to WINGS once the organization has finalized its first phase of funding – hopefully by late summer of this year.
