Give Them Wings, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation doing business as WINGS. WINGS is a two-phase program which is designed to provide housing, work, education and wrap-around services for young men who have aged out of foster care. The program will be starting with four 18- to 23-year-old young men from Hood River and Wasco counties. WINGS then plans to expand to multiple locations as the program grows.
What began as one mom’s quest to find services for her "lost" boy has become a unique collaboration of services that will offer training and support to young men in the Mid-Columbia Region who are ready to turn their lives around. The program is completely voluntary and free – the only requirement is desire to make a change.
Out of the Rubble ... a Home, at last!
You know that sinking sensation -- when your contractor calls and says "Can you come up? I need to show you something."? Well, we had weeks of that. What started as a small project to raise a toilet is now a new kitchen, new wiring, two new baths and all new plumbing. Tim Sweeney, and his crew from Hood River Construction, Bonney Electric and Hood River Plumbing are all amazing. We are so grateful to them for moving quickly and being so budget-conscious. Money did fly out the door, but the house is warm, dry and safe!

We need your help getting the program off the ground. Please take a minute to look over our plan. We think you will agree that the time has come for a new and more complete approach for engaging young men. When they are ready to make a change in their lives, we will give them WINGS. |
