What They Will Be Learning

In order for these young men to be successful, WINGS will offer a full range of services. Each “piece” of this pie chart is essential.

We have looked at countless programs, talked to young men, and the WINGS program was developed from the standpoint that it is not enough to focus on any one or two aspects of a person – you can’t just offer them a job…or just give them a place to live. If they are going to be successfu,l they will need to work on all of these pieces.

In addition to the job-skills training, WINGS will have programs to address drug, alcohol and mental health issues, and life-skill training. We will include family members in our training, if appropriate. We will offer a credit-completion course, GED testing and college classes. Giving back is important – so WINGS Crew will be doing some community service. But we will also have fun – weekends will be spent on a variety of recreational activities.
