For WINGS, the definition of work is not so much about what work they will do, as what is involved. The work must:
• Provide a level of personal satisfaction;
• Have daily, accomplishable tasks; and
• Be varied and physical.
WINGS will contract with various agencies and companies in the area to provide ongoing work for the Crew. Parks and Recreation, Hood River County, the local recycling company, and various construction and deconstruction firms have said they will have plenty of work available
on an ongoing basis.

Anticipated Projects

Clean Up & General Maintenance: WINGS will seek projects from the City and County of Hood River, the Hood River Valley Parks and Recreation District, as well as the City of The Dalles and Wasco County. We will seek contracts to clean parks and other local public areas, such as schools.
Deconstruction: WINGS Crew will work with the Gorge ReBuild-It Center and others to deconstruct barns, kitchens and other structures as needed. All materials will be recycled through the Gorge Rebuild-It Center.
Trail Maintenance: With direction from agencies and other public-land owners, the Crew will become accomplished in the clearing, maintaining, and improving of trails.
Fire Suppression: The Crew will be trained in wild-land fire suppression. They will be available at all times to fight fires throughout the region.
